Kentucky Derby to be moved to Sept 5 (Pending appoval at
Kentucky Horse Racing Commission meeting on 19th) - first time since the end of WWII it would not be run on the first Saturday in May. The Preakness is in discussions to also move to Sept. And 3rd leg of the Triple Crown, Belmont Stakes is looking into a new date.
