As far as your other questions, it sounds like you don't really understand how Ultimate Choice actually works. We highly recommend you read this post from our blog. In short, you may not have needed to make a reservation for a fullsize when an intermediate will basically get you the same thing.
The use of Ultimate Choice *is* the upgrade--you get to select your own vehicle. If there's a premium or luxury car in the Gold Ultimate Choice section then you can grab that. If there isn't and you want something else, then technically you'd need to pay an upgrade fee, although sometimes you may be able to get what you want by asking the lot attendants nicely. Just be realistic about what you're asking for. As a base Gold member, don't expect them to give you that Camaro SS convertible or Infiniti QX80 without an upgrade fee.
I think I got it

So, being a new member I can go to the screen, then, president's circle, choose a car and go to the exit booth. In the exit booth they will scan my CC and driver's license, right?
I'm will read the post you suggested to me, thanks!
About the fullsize, difference was less than five dollars, so I preferred to guarantee a bigger car...

I do not intend / expect to rent a car of this level, a simple upgrade would make me very happy! As I read in another forum, "it would be frustrating to have the benefit and not be able to use it".
