You mentioned it as "a new gold member", but I'm actually a new Hertz member (Is it the same thing?), I've never rented with Hertz. Will my name be on the screen?
I made a reservation for "fullsize", can I attend the president's circle area or request an upgrade? What would be the category, luxury?
Thanks for your time!

For all intents and purposes, as a member with 0 rentals, you are effectively a "new member" since your credit card was never scanned.
As far as your other questions, it sounds like you don't really understand how Ultimate Choice actually works. We highly recommend you read
this post from our blog. In short, you may not have needed to make a reservation for a fullsize when an intermediate will basically get you the same thing.
The use of Ultimate Choice *is* the upgrade--you get to select your own vehicle. If there's a premium or luxury car in the Gold Ultimate Choice section then you can grab that. If there isn't and you want something else, then technically you'd need to pay an upgrade fee, although sometimes you may be able to get what you want by asking the lot attendants nicely. Just be realistic about what you're asking for. As a base Gold member, don't expect them to give you that Camaro SS convertible or Infiniti QX80 without an upgrade fee.
