They shouldn't close the C1 club as they'll still need it for overlap of this new lounge (likely). If they actually did gut and retrofit that lounge, it could actually look good overlooking the atrium area. In the 1980s it was a cool idea, but needs updating ASAP.
If we are living with the C1 lounge by itself (essentially) now, we can certainly live without the C1 for a proper shut-down renovation given the new C3 will be the largest UC ever. IMHO.
