I once rented a Camaro SS from the National location at Santa Barbara airport. The smell of freshly smoked weed in that car was disgusting. There was still a smoke haze in the car. Turns out over discussions with the rental counter that it was the employees who drive the cars to/from the car wash and car prep area that had smoked in the car. Unfortunately the only other car was a Kia something, which I took. So say I was unhappy would be an understatement! However I was going on a Navy base and really did not want to have any issues with 'that smell' wafting out of the car at the security checkpoint....
