Can confirm to the Park Suite. Stayed 3 nights in September and were upgraded without using a TSU. The one we were upgraded to was on its own floor in the original building (floor 2, no elevator). Property and architecture are very nice. Drinks are reasonably priced.
There are a lot of "hucksters" on the beach, so much so that we did not go down there. Only other negative is that we did a spice tour set up through the hotel and it kind of felt like a tourist trap/scam as they were constantly trying to upsell during it. Zanzibar/stone town kind of gave of this whole feel (people were constantly trying to rip you off or sell you something). Probably won't return because of it.
