So for your potential itineraries here are the minimum SC:
YYZ-LAS in C+
180 SC on DL routing through ATL, 0 sectors
YYZ-FCO in J (assuming direct not really sure)
240 SC, 0 sectors
YYZ-LAX-BNE in J (assuming VA fight numbers)
440 SC, 4 sectors
So you'd get 860 SC and 4 sectors, which is enough to qualify for VA Gold status (which is 500 SC and 4 sectors). With some creative routing, you may be able to get VA Platinum, which requires 1000 SC and 8 sectors. Probably the biggest benefit of VA Plat is the 'soft landing', which guarantees VA Gold the next year even if you don't fly at all...
The big question is does VA code-share on DL YYZ-BNE, I don't really know.
Thank you! That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out - does VA does code-share with DL? Hopefully someone on FT knows the answer...
I was also unaware of the "soft landing" benefit with VA Platinum. Thank you for letting me know!
