I agree 100%. A little here & there adds up to a tidy sum. I wish all the money was properly handled instead of situations like the 911 problem you posted.
Even collecting 25¢ would result in a tidy sum in a year's time. I've seen several grocery stores with scannable slips @ register for the customer to easily add .25, .50, $1 etc to grocery bill to go to worthly cause.
