I only get up to that part of the country from time to time, but was about to recommend a place about 10 miles north, which should have fitted all the criteria, only to look it up and find it closed, like so many (in fact too many) traditional pubs nowadays. Such a shame. This was The Black Horse, in Giggleswick village. Here on Google Maps before it disappears from there.
