Business class is almost always empty, all 4 seats of it! Same seat as the rest of the plane.

The trick on Air Baltic is to reserve a window seat on the "2" side; if the aisle seat shows available, it will most often stay that way unless a full flight. If it's a cheap flight, buy 2 seats. It will still be far less than what they charge for business.

Order a meal in advance. I find the all day breakfast the most filling.

Whatever you do, pay for luggage as warranted. Cheapest at the time of booking. There is no leeway given for oversized cabin baggage. 1 mm over, 1 g overweight, that will cost you 60 euro even if you've already paid for 12 kg rather than 8 kg.
