I don’t read the news, for exactly this reason.
This event, in the scheme of things happening in the world, the USA, California or even Los Angeles, is utterly inconsequential.

Sure, it’s fun fodder for you to discuss it. Make fun of delta, pretend to sympathize with children you don’t know.

Thousands of people a year die in automobile accidents.
Why not thousands of threads here for that while we’re at it?
It’s travel related.

If it’s such a big deal to everyone here, has everyone donated to the clean up efforts? (Pun intended).
Have you donated money to delta to pay for the fuel?
Have you leant your expertise to ATC to help understand? Or the FAA or whomever else?

No.

A freak event happened. As happen every day when houses catch fire, cars crash, planes crash, people fall into chemical vats. Drown in bathtubs. Whatever.

Hundreds of people posted online that they were mad at delta for some reason.

And they all want ANSWERS!! They demand to know how an event that didn’t happen near them, that they didn’t volunteer to help fix, that they know nothing about - they want to discuss it endlessly because they are entitled.

Entitled to compensation.
Entitled to showing their keyboard outrage.
entitled to an apology from a company (run by people...)

Things happen in life.
And so does clickbait.

Everyone person posting in that thread fell for it.
An unusual story the media hyped up to make money on while you click and they get paid by advertisers.

Do you actually deeply deeply care about a freak incident like this. Or in 2 days will you have moved on to the next little thing that is unusual that the media tells you to be upset about?

People are losing their grip on reality, and a lot of us are sick of having to watch and read endless idiotic comments online from uninformed keyboard warriors.
