Tegel seems to get worse the closer it is to being closed, I used to like it but since AF/KL moved to terminal A security takes forever and most staff are not very friendly.
To be honest, I never got through security any faster when they were out in the shed. As they had a "central" security for all flights departing from that shed, you had many more people going through.
Luggage delivery has always been hit-or-miss. On a trip last year, the baggage handlers went for a union meeting (or a work-to-rule stoppage or something similar) just as we landed. It took over an hour for them just to start unloading the plane.
