Looks like the ship was cut in half over 2 months ago and is (or was) due to sail again commercially in just under 2 months.

Link has a photo of the Breeze cut in half with new section inserted but not yet attached.

Official word is that they found Asbestos in some deep dark corner of the engine rooms - not in any place where anyone would have been exposed, but now it must be removed. Probably a good idea!

The Breeze was the first of the triplets to go in for beautification. The original back online date was sometime in February and is now late May. Everything between those dates was cancelled, and since she was supposed to be doing cruises in Alaska in June, those first few are cancelled and replaced by itins that will get the Breeze up to Alaska and at some point the preplanned schedule resumes. We were one of the Alaska Victims.

The Legend is next and her work was pushed back until the work of the Breeze is completed, and so her "down time" moved somewhat and itins were changed around to fit within the new lenghening schedule.

I'm not sure how much the Pride, which is last, was affected.

In the end, we turned out OK.

Windstar refunded all we'd paid them and also gave us some future cruise credit that we were able to apply to an already planned future cruise.
All land arrangements we made were cancelled with no penalties applied.
Our TA found us a replacement cruise on Silversea that fit within the dates of our existing airline tickets.
The Silversea cruise is shorter, but we were able to fit in a 5 day Vancouver/Banff excursion as well.
We lost one day at Denali, but that will be compensated for by the Banff trip.

We're in a good place. Many others are not so lucky.
