Hyatt and MGM had definitely agreed on some type of target demo criteria since the NOIR matching program is in its 2 year. meaning, Hyatt and MGM are happy with the current partnership promo strategy. i doubt they would have rolled it out again this year if it made no impact to the bottom line. think cobrand CC strategy rev.

of course, we are all curious what the criteria is because people who have not stayed at MGM got upgraded while some who do stay got nothing. makes no sense. it must be based on other big data that we dont know about like LexisNexis. that would make a lot more sense to me. casinos are in the business of "gaming".

thats because the lounge at Vdara has the same access req as Aria and Bellagio chairman. meaning its tied to the room type. not your VIP tier status. and thats why bellagio has a separate VIP lounge for tiers which is much nicer, but i would argue that the aria lounge beats bellagio easily. of course, with the right host and play, you can get whatever you want at any time.

I didn't try getting on the elevator before asking, so I don't know if I could have gotten in anyhow or not. But it really is a fantastic perk -- beautiful views, some basic snacks (cheese/crackers, cookies), and comp drinks (Jack, Tanqueray, etc., also free Sugar Free Red Bull). And the woman who runs the lounge must be the sweetest lady in town. She'll also pour you a whole glass full of booze if that's your thing. There's a theater-like sports-viewing area too. We stopped in twice yesterday... in a town where everything costs money, it's very nice to have a little retreat to sit chill and watch the game in between other stuff.
what was the process to get in? do they even swipe your card to see if youre coded? my general understanding is that you have to be coded or be NOIR for the 62nd floor. i never actually tried. been busy at the bellagio lounges, but I hear the 62nd floor is the best one.
