You're right, the voucher holder has to be on the reservation so it's impossible to do separate bookings under the same name. Although, the other adult has one voucher as well, so we might be able to use that instead.
If that's the case, IME of one event on a BA Amex, BA will need both account holders present during the call and you WILL end up with two separate bookings. But the end result is that you get four seats and it was pretty painless (they block out the four seats at the start of the process to avoid them going during the 20 minute or so call).
