What about early check-in?
At DOH, you can check-in whenever you want (I believe there is a 24-hour-limit, but beyond that...). At outstations, it's usually 3 hours (unless OLCI without bags, or there are alternatives to bag drop at counter - such as Jewel at SIN, or Airport Express in Hong Kong).
