You don't have to change terminals, neither do you have to go through passport control and, you guessed it, no need to go through security. Finally, 3 hours is much more than enough time for what you have to do.
Of course, all of the above is true if you travel on a single ticket, you already have your BP for the "Alitalia flight". But then, 3 hours would still be more than enough.
