Air India + Lat Am : Has anyone done this?
Hey!
I've a ticket that I got from a travel agent. The same ticket can be bought on LatAm. Here's the gist of it.
- Route : Delhi -> Sao Paulo (via Madrid) AI 135 + LA 8065
- Air India and LatAm are not in the same alliance
- Traveller is Indian with a Canadian Visa. She'll soon have a Brazil visa.
- One e-ticket but two PNRs. I have read that there are two PNRS as Air India issues a 5 letter one while Lat Am does a 6 letter one.
Immediately after booking I had checked with Air India and the lady had said we'll be able to check-in all the way through. I called them again and they said they don't know. LatAm first said they can't check-in all the way through but I called them yesterday and they said they can. Questions :-
1. Will the passenger need a Schengen Visa?
2. Will Air India be able to produce two boarding passes?
3. Has anyone recently done a transit in Madrid from T1 to T4S?
4. Is the second ticket guaranteed. What if the first flight gets late?
Last I did T1 to T4s was in August and it was pretty smooth. Hoping it's the same now. Not having a boarding pass would change things though I guess.
