At a minimum I'd ask the agent to try to book each one-way, given the 24-hour free cancel policy, just to see which half is breaking it.
The outbound is coach and return is 85K miles for coach or biz. Can't book it.
For a month, I have been trying to find awards for 3 from 3rd week of DEC , 21,22,23,24, and return on Jan 4rd, 3rd or 5th.
I have been trying ORD-DXB
or
ORD- KUL.
I tried from other US cities and find none except for 95K miles one way per passenger on coach. Expensive for coach.
I do know that is it busy holiday season and finding any award is very hard.
Who knows awards may open up at the last moment.
