The most important thing for the OP is that BA (mainline) and Comair are two separate airlines, and I've never heard of Comair accepting bags for a BA (mainline) flight. (Before the pedants come to take me away, Comair --> BA connections are obviously a different matter.)
I think that all of Comair's flights, whether international or domestic, check in at Terminal B. In fact, Terminal A and Terminal B are not really separate terminals, but just two different check-in areas. Although I believe that Terminal A is only for international flights, Terminal B is not for domestic flights only. That check-in area handles, for example, all South African Airways flights, wherever they are going.
