With all due respect, you are comparing apples and oranges. Hotels in the Maldives are far more luxurious than those in Bora Bora so your statement would apply to most hotel chains therefore you are not breaking news here. For example, St.Regis Maldives is a superior property than St.Regis Bora Bora but that does not tell us anything about whether any of them are superior or inferior relative to local standards.
It would not be contradictory if someone claimed that Conrad BB is great value for the money for BB standards, WA Maldives is terrible value for Maldives standards, and that WA Maldives is the better property of the two. I would also note that the price tag is not the same either.
What's more valuable in my humble opinion is a comparison between two resorts in the same price range in the Maldives (Conrad Rangali not being one of them), for example St.Regis vs Waldorf.
