I typically don't have much trouble with the crowds on the 1st Saturday. I am not looking to participate in the "O-Zapft", and by the time my flight arrives from USA and I drop off bags at hotel, it is early afternoon when I get to the Wiesn.
But this year, wow. The 1st Saturday was packed, to the point of struggling to find a place to sit, even outside. The weather was absolutely perfect, which probably accounts for it.
i think next year if we go for opening day I will be there at 5am in hosen to see that
