I've always interpreted the "same day SkyTeam international itinerary" rule to mean that the flights are on the same PNR. IIRC these are SkyTeam lounge rules for ElitePlus (DL GM+). It could be different is the agent thinks that OP is trying to access the lounge based on the business class TATL ticket.
