Amex gift card data point

Took a bump JFK-SLC for $700.

Selected Amex gift card on 12 Sept and received today the 17th.

Note the $700 credit arrived as two $100 and one $500 gift card. The funds expire after six months.

So unless I dump the total balance into an Amazon account I'm juggling three gift cards and the balances.

I know, first world problems.

As a conscientious flyertalker, I won't use the balance on Delta airfare because Amex plat gives 5 MR points per dollar
and won't use it on Hilton charges because of my Amex Surpass card.
