I am trying to fly from MEX-ATL on AA through MIA on a Monday night. The incoming flight comes in at 8:50pm and I have the possibility to book a separate ticket for MIA-ATL on AA leaving at 9:55pm. Just IMO, if everything on your MEX-MIA flight goes perfectly that's enough time with GE and Pre. But the "everything perfect" flights are pretty few and far between at the moment, and it wouldn't take much delay for you to miss the connecting flight. Not sure I'd chance that myself, at least not without a solid backup plan.
