I, like most of my team, avoid BA whenever possible. The disasters are all to do with the Walsh-Cruz regime of becoming millionaires whilst destroying the UK's once world class national airlines. In the 'cost cutting--fighting to survive' scheme (remember Cruz at American Airlines?) they sacked all the in house IT specialists in the UK and subcontracted the business to eastern Europe. This coincided with the removal of 'free food', including even a glass of water on request In the wake of the creation of the unfortunate Mixed Fleet scheme. ('Free food' is a cruzism: the money customers paid for the ticket used to cover on-board catering: the removal of catering in Eco,on Flights under 5 hours, the sharp reduction on the quantity/quality of catering on premier classes did not make tickets cheaper: the latter has been steadily increasing). The Website hacking, IT meltdowns, the hostility--generated by the CEOs of IAG and BA--felt towards management among ground staff, cabin crew, pilots...the strikes and the embittered and disgruntled passengers will of course eventually destroy the company. Then the gentlemen in charge can look for another airlines to fleece. A wonderful way to observe the 100th anniversary of BA and its grand predecessors.
