A C fare probably allows an upsell since it's the second highest of the CX business fare classes, but there may be a fee. Not sure if CX will have put additional restrictions on the ticket. Keep in mind, also, that you would under no circumstances be upfaring to the mistake A fare. You would be upfaring to whatever the first class fare is at the time, and possibly a one-way F fare, which would be $10K-$15K USD.
