Had a similar scenario last year on my November trip connecting from CX879 to CX679. Layover time was 1.5 hours, so we ended up going through security not too far from gate 40, which was quicker than the first one across from gate 49, thanks to the friendly staff who realized people had tight connections.

Still had spare time to relax before my flight. It should not be an issue and even if it does, they will get you on your connecting flight. That's my experience
