Upgrading second segment with cash
Family and I are booked SFO-DXB (stopover)-MAA. Wanted to experience EK F and hence tried to see if I could upgrade the DXB-MAA segment thinking it would be cheapest. When I try to calculate a cash upgrade for the DXB-MAA segment alone, it is quoting me over $20k (same as if I select to upgrade SFO-DXB segment). My question is whether it is possible to secure a cheaper paid upgrade on just the short segment of a 2 segment flight booking.
