Haha I probably buy more on Amazon than anyone and I've never come close to accidentally using points for a purchase. How the heck can that even happen? I have my default credit card set and I only use an alternative when I manually choose it. In the last few years I have had several lucrative 'use 1 point" deals on Amazon- mostly on American Express but just took advantage of this Chase one. Obviously that's the only time one would want to use a point.
