That would be like saying next year you only need to fly 25,000 miles on United to qualify for Premier Platinum since you are already Premier Gold.
As mentioned, if you really want to try for Platinum get a Marriott credit card and you start at 15 nights (probably 16 assuming you get a birthday night). Of if you staying a bunch with your granted Marriott status, try and Platinum challenge.
