Yes, it does.
| Edit: re-reading the original post, it's not clear to me if you're asking about the "void" (at the edge?) of the foot rest that ffsim was talking about above - or if you're asking about the gap above the foot rest (found in 1 A/K and 9 A/K) which gives you more foot space. I don't know about the "void". I do know that 9 A/K has additional space above the foot rest, and I prefer it so that I can sleep on my back.
