Took MD's suggestion and asked about a meeting with the bank. The relatives are saying that they believe the money can be wired. Will see if it goes through in several weeks. Apparently, they were confused and thought I was looking to actually transfer the money -- when of course, the money has to be transfered in my son's name.Not very likely that anyone from family will try to grab funds -- family loves my 2 children to death. When we arrived they were jumping for joy. Two years ago a fellow traveler on a cruise told me that one of my son's aunts said she "envied me" [since my son was such a great kid.]Finally, it is the family's money, and if they changed their mind, I wouldn't be the least bit upset.
