Agree that Excal is pretty bad, but for around $25-$30(plus $40 resort fee) for weeknights during the summer, it may be a good option for a 1-2 night mattress run.
Compared to Excal, Luxor may be a little better and only cost a little more around $35-$40 a night for their recently renovated Tower One rooms. Their pool is a lot nicer too IMO.
