These days, the Wynwood district has some great restaurants. I am sure most will be open. You can stay toward downtown and Uber it the short distance. The neighborhood around it isn't the best, so wouldn't suggest walking there. Ton of choices.
You could stay just north of downtown - Biscayne Marriott, the nearby Doubletree or Hilton.
Or you could stay need the Brickell area. Some good restaurants there, all walking distance and safe. We liked Crazy About You. LOL looks interesting. Delores But You Can Call Me Lolita is good and there are a ton of other choices in and around the Mary Brickell village.
