The menu did say that the meals are to be served mid flight. I was on CX 830 and CX 841. It was probably due to feedback from cabin crew that they could not finish the service on time if they serve the second meal prior to landing and as a result, management changed the timing of the second meal to mid flight. But still, serving the second meal mid flight makes no sense.
