I suppose it's not surprising that the line to enter the US was quite short (10 cars max), while the line to enter Canada was at least 1/4 mile long (hundreds of cars). I'm not sure why anyone would want to be subjected to the CBP if they didn't have to. The contrast couldn't have been more stark. Whereas the Canadian border official was friendly and welcoming, the US official was openly adversarial. If this is how they treat GE holders, I can't imagine how horribly they treat people from other countries.
