It was clearly explained to me at check-in when I stayed at a Courtyard not long after the $10 credit to scheme was introduced: "For multiple night stays, credit does not roll over. You must use it on the same day, and a single transaction - don't buy something like a single candy bar as you will immediately forfeit the rest of your $10."
