The strangest post ever, you didn't bother to choose a seat or at best confirm that your choice was confirmed but then blame the airline. I purchased a ticket on SQ last year and went through an optional process to reserve seats. Had I pressed "skip" for this process I would have expected to be put in whichever seat was available at check in. I am struggling to understand the OPs beef.
