Cash Upgrade from LH econ to Premium Econ on award seat
We are looking at flights to Europe later this summer or Autumn, using UA miles. UA offers very few seats in some market and almost NO Business Saver seats. In fact, Biz Saver seats on any airline in any market are very scarce. So, we may have to settle for Economy seat. On UA, we would just pay cash for the E+ "upgrade." How do you get into LH Premium seats on an award ticket? Is there a cash upgrade fee? Miles for upgrade?
I hate the thought of flying in regular coach IAH to FRA on LH. E+ on UA is tolerable and I can select seats hassle free. BUT UA is not putting any seats out there in some city pairs I've checked.
