You should not ask permission to record. Just do it. The TSO saying he'd rather you didn't is merely expressing a personal preference, not a command, nor does he have any authority to stop you.

You may as well tell the OIG, but they don't care. You could try telling the House conmitees on Oversight & Government Reform and Homeland Security, as well as the constituent services staffer of your federal House & Senate members.
