I can't imagine that the underwriting criteria between green/gold/plat is any different. There's also a self-selecting criteria (as you mentioned) that the AF imposes.

For my next job I want to be the genius that comes up with credit cards with an aura of exclusivity and high AF. I bet those geniuses get paid very well.
