three night stay here and i'm spg platinum. booked basic no view room on the "couples package" which was $20 more/stay and included two wine tastings, two drinks at the bar, and "f+b credit" that was actually a really crappy $20 coupon only redeemable during your stay if you purchase two adult entrees. checked in on the app where i was pre-assigned a fallsview room with jacuzzi and fireplace. this hotel absolutely had balcony rooms and suites available but they didn't want to give them.

this resort charges a scam resort fee of $15 which gets you absolutely nothing except a "shuttle pass" (probably to and from some parking lot or a casino) and "beer sampling" at a neighboring brewpub which were 3 urine-drug-test sized cups. actually it was half the size of a urine test cup. any bar in the americas would have given you more for free just by asking.

the room was fine. normal sheraton, nothing too fancy nothing too shabby. very big tub but very small shower. this place had turndown each night! very surprising and nice touch as make a green choice sucks now that marriott ruined took over.

club lounge was average for a north american sheraton. evening snacks are 4-7pm: two very impressive looking cakes, two hot items that were basic, normal canadian charcuterie of turkey breast, salami and cheese cubes . breakfast is 8(!!)-11am, was the usual rubbery/overcooked scrambled eggs, bacon, containerized yogurts, fruit bowl. usual. breakfast buffet at the restaurant was a charge, as per the new marriott order.

never did the italian restaurant which they really talk up, has nice views. the dinner buffet had some very decent/real sides and heavy foods like lasagna and real mac n cheese instead of the canadian norm of macaroni swimming in liquidy powdered cheese flavored sauce. but the salad bar was poor/basic and the roast and meats didn't look good. i had a per diem so i went to hooters ($14 all u can eat wings on monday!) or the casino buffet which had mediocre sides but good seafood options, a wok station and a great salad bar. there are also some great jamaican places up the road (car) if you feel like a roti or curry. the hooters is the restaurant attached to a quality inn and i must say sheraton should stop trying to be half-baked classy and have a breastaurant in their lobby instead.

i didn't pay for parking from the casino garage because i gambled a lot. parking casino = $40 per 24hrs, sheraton $35, and neighboring properties had variable boards for their parking. the one behind the hotel was set at $15/24hrs during april midweek.

despite being a "resort" my 4pm checkout request on a weekday was obliged, the day of, no problem.

decent stay but the resort fee and no upgrades were a bummer. i guess if you want to impress bae and do all the stuff and have a romantic candlelight dinner near the falls sure. and the jacuzzi tub was nice. the room was great. but if i ever come back here i'll just stay at a 1 star up the hill which will include a balcony, be more fun, and have no. resort. fee. unless hojos and independents do that now?
