The vast majority of international Choice hotels are now blocking all award availability (Scandinavia, but also Japan, Spain, France, etc.). Anyone considering buying points should be wary. It's always been a gamble that award nights you want will still be available after the 7-10 days it takes the points to post after the Daily Getaways sale, but not even knowing whether most international properties will be bookable on points any longer (or at what rates) makes this much riskier than previous years.
