I have a one-way MAD-JFK on IB J booked using avios - 25,550 + £370 tfc
I will position LGW-MAD on IB Express with ample time to connect, tickets still available for ~£60
Award availability on LCY-JFK has now opened up but the costs - 50,000 avios + £450 tfc
How do the two compare, does it make sense for me to switch? I am in NYC for a night only so by taking the LCY service I'd get 2-3 hours more in the city.
