I provide positive feedback every time I pay for a night's stay. Bribing people to do the job you're also paying them to do is not a great strategy, and certainly not one many would subscribe to.
So that makes you basically a commodity type - and there’s nothing wrong with that. I look for something more, and recognize that I don’t really deserve exceptional performance when I occasionally encounter it if I fail to recognize it at least from time to time.
