Actually what I like most about CX is that the bookable upgrades allow you not only to use revenue discount inventory of the class of service you upgrade into, but also accrue based on that booking class. That's pretty rare and more than makes up for elite tier bonuses IMO.
Interesting... but how does that make up for the bonus miles? You only get 4 flights per year where you get a 25% bonus miles (say you do a I-A upgrade so 125% to 150%) whereas elite tier bonus would give you 50%-100% bonus miles for every flight you take throughout the year?
