The opposite I’d say, the Athenee has had a recent refurbishment and whilst traditional in style the hard product looks great, in contrast the St. Regis is starting to date and get a bit chipped in places, I find. I’m inclined to think you’ll get better service at the St. Regis, however.
Someone recently posted in the thread for the Athenee that they got a room that had mildew odor which would suggest they have not refurbished every room.
