Had a friend who worked for a major European airline back in the 80s. He had to check out why there was never enough champagne on the flights leaving from X hub. The people loading the craft blamed it on the crews ("we loaded it mate"); the crews blamed it on the loaders ("it's not all on the plane"). Turned out that the loaders took a share before loading and the crews took a share after it had been loaded. He reported this back to head office, but not before bundled a couple of cases of champagne and loads of miniatures into the boot of his car.
It's not just CX. It's everywhere and for a looooong time.
