Once I moved my wife and myself from both applying every 33 days to both of us applying once every 60 days, we've been auto approved every time. That wasn't the reason I went to the slower cadence, but it is a nice side benefit. I apply on the first of every even numbered month, and she applies on the first of every odd numbered month. 12 approvals per year is a decent haul of Aadvantage miles. Not nearly as good as 2 x 11, but I can't really manufacture the minimum spend on 22 cards per year anymore. I'm not even sure how long I'll be able to do 12 per year. When I no longer can, then I guess I'll try to get at least one of us under 5/24 and go that route for a while, if Chase hasn't moved on to an even more restrictive set of rules by then.
